School Principal

Principal’s Message

I am both humbled and honored to continue serving as the principal of such a caring and committed community. I remain deeply proud to be a Pleasant Hill Panda and firmly believe in the transformative power of education.

As we begin summer break, I want to personally thank each one of you for an incredible school year. I am so proud of how our faculty, staff, students, and families came together, grew together, and supported one another. Together is truly the thread that binds our success.

This summer is a time to rest, recharge, and reflect on all we’ve accomplished. It is also a time to keep learning in meaningful ways—through reading, exploring, and spending quality time with family and friends. Every experience helps prepare our students for continued growth.

As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, we will continue moving forward step-by-step and day-by-day, with a clear focus on our goals. Our dedicated staff remains committed to meeting students where they are and helping each one reach their full potential. I hold high expectations for myself, our staff, students, families, and community—because together, we will continue moving from good to great.

We will continue to lead the way with AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), ensuring our students are equipped with the skills they need to be college- and career-ready—today, tomorrow, and beyond.

Even during the summer months, we encourage our Panda Pride to shine through by continuing to model:

The road to success begins within the halls of PHE, and we are excited to welcome our students back for another year filled with academic and social growth.

Pleasant Hill Elementary School will provide a safe learning environment and challenging curriculum that enables students to obtain their full potential.

Our vision is to cultivate a safe and caring learning environment that enables all students to become college and career ready through a rigorous curriculum that challenges students at all levels. 

We believe that strong partnerships between families and schools are essential for ensuring student success. By working together, we can create a culture of attendance where every student feels motivated and supported to attend school every day.

    As a Choice District, we allow parents to select the school they want their children to attend, as long as that school has capacity and program availability.

    Each one of our public schools has a full-time sworn law enforcement officer serving as a School Resource Officer on campus every day.

    Our students have highly-qualified, certified teachers who provide engaging, relevant, and rigorous instruction.

    We offer a rigorous curriculum and systems of support, complete with college preparatory and career and technical education paths to meet the needs of every student

    Students have the opportunity to take high school credit courses in middle school and to earn college/postsecondary credit at no cost to parents while still in high school.

  • State-of-the-Art-Career Training Programs

    We offer courses that allow students to explore career interests, master workplace competencies, gain employable skills, and earn industry certifications and licensing upon graduation

“My absolute favorite thing about PHE is the relationships. There's a focus on kindness. Our students, admin, teachers, and staff all watch out for each other and help each other. We learn and grow together. There's a saying at PHE, "Once a Panda, Always a Panda." We have that saying because the relationships here are so very special that when you're a panda, you cheer each other on, you support each other, and help one another out.” -Kyra Woods, Parent/Media Specialist

“I came here from Kindergarten to 5th grade and it just prepared me so well. They taught me all the life skills that I needed. I feel like they took into consideration all the situations that I had going on my life at the time, and nobody ever left me alone. Everybody was always there talking to me and was there for me. I just took everything in, and I decided in the future that I'll give it back. You come in these doors every day and you just feel so proud of yourself for being a Panda." -Evert Jurado-Martinez, Alum/Paraprofessional
